In order to put an expense in your books, there must always be a supporting document. Lost it? Then it won’t work. If it’s not an excessive amount, it doesn’t have to be a big deal. There is nothing illegal about forgetting an expense.

If you forget to declare income, that’s illegal. If you forget expenses, it’s not illegal. It does have the disadvantage that your taxable profit (= turnover – expenses) will be higher and you will therefore have to pay (a bit) more taxes. So if it is about small expenses and does not happen too often, it is not so bad.
