“Based on the idea that seeking individual guidance and support should not be taboo, Coachingpraktijk Evident was founded in early 2023. Taking care of yourself and your mental well-being is extremely important. I want to break down barriers and make coaching and mental support a matter of course. Sometimes people could use a little extra help, and I want to offer that guidance.
Through solution-focused coaching and mental support, I help people work on themselves in an accessible way. Does this mean I analyze their questions and provide a ready-made solution? No, not at all. The answers always lie within the individuals themselves. I help them, through a process-oriented approach, to bring those answers and solutions to the surface, so they can learn to listen to themselves again. I also get clients moving again—sometimes literally.
In addition, I regularly assign “homework” or have my clients complete exercises. This helps them create clarity and focus. Sometimes we work physically; other times, creatively. Always in a structured way, with a touch of humor.”
Good preparation
“I had thoroughly read through Acerta’s website and attended quite a few of their online webinars to support my startup. As a result, my start as an entrepreneur went quite smoothly. Once I really got going, the practice had a quiet but pleasant start.
Unfortunately, finding new clients isn’t always easy. For example, I’m still struggling with the question of whether I should create content for social media—like Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn—even though I’ve noticed that people with no connection to me at all are still finding their way to the practice.”
Evelien’s tips for starting entrepreneurs
“Do I have advice for other starting entrepreneurs? Absolutely! Read up as much as you can, ask other entrepreneurs questions, and follow the free webinars from Acerta, Unizo… Whatever you can find—it’s really, really important to gather information!
Also, don’t waste time looking for an accountant—start using Dexxter instead. The tool is convenient, user-friendly, and reliable, and everything is explained very clearly, even for someone who knows absolutely nothing about accounting. Thanks to the plain-language explanations in each section, I feel confident about what I’m doing. This allows me to run my business with a solid understanding of the ins and outs!”
