Website costs as an investment

Question

Hello,

I purchased a website through Elementor. Payment is a fixed yearly amount. In my opinion, if the website is paid for in one go through a web designer, it should be considered an investment and the website should then be depreciated. Here, given that it is a yearly payment, it is difficult to determine the value of the website and, in my opinion, no depreciation should take place. Does anyone have more information about this?

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Stéfan

Hello Stefan, I am in the same situation as you and also pay yearly for the hosting of my website. I am no expert, but I see this as an expense and enter it in my accounts under 'Software & computing costs'.

I am in the same situation, but I pay monthly, so I receive a monthly invoice and simply enter this as an expense.

Thank you for your answers.
