my first expense (roof racks)

Question

Hello,

I would like to submit my first expense, which is an invoice for roof racks for my light goods vehicle. Can anyone help me determine which cost category this falls under? (I was thinking general investment or other services). If I do end up filling in the wrong cost category here in the future, what are the consequences here?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

If they cost less than €500, I would classify them as small equipment and tools (100% business expense and fully deductible this financial year). Investment is also an option, in which case the cost is spread over several years (3 years, for example). General Expenses Light Cargo Costs is also possible, but then only a certain percentage is included. You will have to decide which of these three options is best for you based on your turnover and the actual use of those roof racks.

Do I also have to submit a vAT declaration for the vAT from the quarter when I had not yet started? I also incurred some costs at that time for which I can reclaim a small amount of vAT.
