How do I enter multi-year hosting?

Question

I have paid for a four-year plan for the hosting of my website.
Is it correct that, in order to enter this correctly in the accounts, I simply divide the invoice amount by 4 and enter this amount for this year and the next three years?

No, you have purchased it now. You enter it in full now and not in the coming years. I assume it is not an investment (>£250). So just enter it this year.

You do the same with other small items (e.g. you buy a new charger for your smartphone this year but use it for 4 years).
