Question

When calculating the residence costs for all expenses related to housing, do I have to take my housemate into account in the calculations? Or can I charge the full amount?

"Charge the full amount?" To whom are you going to charge? Your housemates?

Just enter 20% of your housing costs to your accounts, which is what Dexxter recommends as standard for this type of expense. Whether there are 2 people in the house or 4 people or ... As a secondary occupation, there's no problem with that rate. It was checked in the past (before Dexxter) and that percentage is fine.

There are two of us living at one address.
So I was wondering whether I should enter all or half of my housing costs as expenses. I was indeed going to stick to the 20%.

Just take the amounts from your document and apply the 20% for professional purposes. Don't halve it again.

It's a bit like a family, who also live at one address with 3, 4, 5, ... That's also just the document amount and 20% for professional purposes.

Great, thank you.
