Parking costs

Question

Dear Sir/Madam, For my services, I need to travel very regularly and, of course, ‘free’ parking is no longer available. My specific question is: can I deduct 100% of my parking costs in this sense/context, as they are solely linked to my professional activities, or only a certain percentage?

Thank you and kind regards,

Dear HE,

If your travel was 100% professional, then you can of course claim 100% of these parking costs. However, due to car taxation, part of this will be rejected depending on how polluting your car is. When claiming, you can always clarify what the journey was about and who you had an appointment with, so that you can easily justify the professional nature of the journey in the event of an audit. Best regards, SK
