Coffee machine

Question

Hello everyone,

I have purchased a fully automatic coffee machine that I will use partly for private and partly for business purposes in my flat.

Can I claim this cost and, yes, under which category? Do I need to estimate the professional use?

Thanks in advance.

That depends. Do you have staff? If so, you can claim 100% of the cost of coffee, tea, etc. If you don't have staff, but you regularly received on customers, suppliers, etc., you can claim 50% of the cost as reception costs. (You will have to provide additional evidence, as your coffee machine is simply stated in your flat and not in an office space, meeting room, etc.) If you do not do this and simply drink coffee yourself during the hours that you work from home for your self-employed activity, then it is not a professional expense, but a private expense.
