In the cabaret show “Huisje op de evenaar”, Dries De Vis, accompanied by a live band, performs songs he wrote himself in Dutch. Think lighthearted lyrics and catchy choruses steeped in a blend of folk and pop.
The term “creative jack-of-all-trades” certainly applies to Dries. As a child, he once played Pinocchio in the musical of the same name, after which he never left the stage. With various bands, he performs both original songs and covers throughout Flanders, with the Gentse Feesten and AB Club as highlights.
In addition, Dries has appeared on various television shows, such as “Familie”, “Witse”, “Nachtwacht”, and “Voor de leeuwen”. Dries is also a much-sought-after voice actor and has worked both on and off camera at Studio Brussel and Q-Music.
On his new EP, “Huisje op de evenaar”, Dries returns—without too many bells and whistles—to what has been and what will hopefully yet come. The songs are described as “musings on both life’s big questions and the small, everyday things that occupy our minds.” You can listen to the EP here.
Dries proves that Dexxter is also perfect for creative professions, so we’re especially proud to count him among our clients.
After a busy summer performing at numerous venues across Flanders, Dries will be performing at Maanrock on Saturday, August 27.
