For a good year, Dexxter profiled itself as the accounting programme for student entrepreneurs and sole proprietors.
Since previous week, this has been extended to chief-professionals with sole proprietors.
Only sole proprietors, not partnerships
‘As bookkeeping for sole proprietors is not that different from sole proprietors, this was a logical next step,’ says Giel Thomas, one of the three founders and an ex-bookkeeper himself.
‘There are some nuances when it comes to specific codes in personal income tax and calculations of social security contributions, but these are relatively small things, which we were able to include in our accounting programme in an orderly way.’
On top of that, there are also many secondary professionals enabled in Dexxter who are making the move towards self-employed in main occupation with a sole proprietor. These people are familiar with their Dexxter environment and were only too happy to continue using us. Hence, we also added this target group.
‘Beyond sole proprietors we won’t go any further, with companies we think expert advice is crucial to have the interplay between personal income tax and corporate income tax correct.’
Moreover, the optimisations an accountant can make to the company structure are much broader.
Dexxter users can always give their accountant free access to their profile if they want additional advice. We also offer a ‘marketplace’ where we have created a meeting place for Dexxter users who would like some extra tax advice & accountants who want to give that tax advice.
The advisers you can find there are independent accountancy offices that are fine with an entrepreneur doing their accounting in Dexxter accounting software. When those entrepreneurs like to get some extra tax advice, they can then turn to these accountants paying.
Until the end of October 50% discount
‘ A lot of features have already been added since the launch. Recently, the whole car taxation was also added, the entrepreneur enters the details of his car and Dexxter immediately calculates the rejected expenses,’ Thomas continues. ‘Soon banking integration will be added, we really want to make accounting as simple and understandable as possible for entrepreneurs with sole proprietors.’
To reinforce the launch, the 1st 100 accounts for chief business officers were given away for free previous week. After barely one day, those were all out the door. As some were missing out, a second action was immediately announced: all of October, chief proprietors with sole proprietors can still benefit from a 50% discount if they respond to this LinkedIn post.
‘We noticed a lot of interest from different target groups, such as trainee lawyers and architects, non subject to VAT and a lot of freelancers.’ Nice to see that there was also a need in this target group for a simple accounting programme to take charge of their own bookkeeping.
‘Promising SME of the year’finalist
The young start-up is currently doing well and this has not escaped Unizo Antwerp’s notice. The day after the launch for the main press, they were told that Unizo Antwerp had selected them as finalists for ‘Promising SME of the year’.
In the final they will compete against two other Antwerp start-ups and on 09/11/22 we will know the winner.
