Purchases of light goods with a traditional business loan

Question

In January, I purchased a light goods vehicle with a traditional loan on my sole proprietor (currently still a secondary occupation, from April onwards normally a sole proprietor as my main occupation).

We contributed a small amount of our own money from our private funds.

Of course, we received an invoice for the car stating the full amount. How should I enter this? Should I just upload the invoice as investment over 4 years?
Or should I enter the loan we are paying off each month, as there is also interest here? And which document should I upload for this?
And what about the contribution we made ourselves from our private funds?

Situation
total purchase price: 19,400
own contribution: 3,650
loan repayment over 4 years
there was no vAT on the car

Hello,

Here it concerns a sole proprietor, so it makes no difference whether you paid from your business account or from your private account.
You simply need to enter the full invoice (if you use the light goods vehicle 100% for business purposes) as an investment and I would write it off over 4 years (because your loan also runs for 4 years).
You can also enter the interest on your loan. You can enter this monthly in your accounts, but it is easier to enter the full interest for this year at the end of the year. Normally, the bank will provide you with a document showing how much interest you have paid for the whole year. (Please note that you can only include the interest and not the loan repayments).

Kind regards,
Michiel

Thank you for the information! I thought that this was how it should be done, but now it is clear to me ;-)
