structured communication

Question

My customer is never a user of structured communication. Could this have consequences?

I did a quick online search, and the results can be summarised as follows: "Although not using structured communication is not a direct legal violation in itself, there may well be consequences, such as additional administrative burdens and possible fines or penalties if payments are not processed or allocated correctly as a result."However, it seems that it is not required to use structured communication as long as your administration remains in order.
