social security contributions final statement

Question

I have received my final settlement for the 2023 tax year. It’s a hefty bill: I now (2025) have to pay extra for my social security contributions for 2023.

Do I enter this expense in my accounting programme under 2025? Or is this not an expense that I need to register in my accounts? Thanks!

Normally, you will receive a certificate from your social security fund showing the contributions you have paid and the contributions you will receive paid back in 2025, which you can then enter in your accounts.

Thank you for your answer! I have entered it in 2025. I find it strange to enter personal income tax in a company's accounts, but perhaps that is because it is a sole proprietor? (It is nice, of course, that I can enter this expense.)
