Reverse-charged vAT

Question

I purchase packaging to from a dutch supplier. As a small business with limited turnover, I am exempted from VAT.

The Dutch supplier charges me 0% VAT and states ‘VAT REVERSE CHARGED’ on its invoice. In this case, should I question for a new invoice with VAT stated (since I do not have to file a vAT declaration)?

Yes, that's right, I've had this happen before, they do indeed have to issue a new invoice :)

Or file a special vAT declaration (return 629)

That's what I do, because not all suppliers in the Netherlands are willing to do this.

Thank you!

I also file a 629 return.
