purchases of paint cans

Question

Trade goods or consumables?I have a job where I have to paint white lines on the ground. I sold that project for a fixed amount, so I buy the spray cans to use. Should I record this as trade goods or consumables in the purchase? I don’t split it up on the sales invoice. By definition, I’m not selling spray cans, but labour, right? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

These are consumables. You need them to carry out the work.
If you were to resell these cans directly, we would refer to them as trade goods.
