What about restaurant receipts and suchlike?
There is a grace period up to and including March 2026, provided that you have made an effort to be okay with Peppol. Up to and including March, you can simply enter your invoices as usual. You will not be disadvantaged as a result.
This grace period is stopped in April. If you are subject to VAT, this becomes important. If you want to reclaim VAT, you must have a correct invoice without a vAT number on paper, and that invoice must be sent via Peppol. If it is not sent via Peppol, you cannot reclaim the VAT.
The supplier also risks a fine if they do not use Peppol, but that is less of a problem for you. Not being able to reclaim vAT as a sole proprietor subject to VAT is your problem.
As for restaurant receipts, these are not invoices in the name of your sole proprietorship, but ordinary receipts. These do not have to be sent via Peppol. Peppol only applies to invoices between Belgian companies.
In any case, you cannot reclaim vAT on restaurant receipts, because they are not full invoices in the name of your sole proprietorship.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
