Flat-rate instead of actual professional expenses?

Question

Hello,

I just read in an article (https://www.sbb.be/nl/magazine/forfaitaire-reele-beroepskosten-als-zelfstandige-beide-opties-gewikt-en-gewogen) that as a sole proprietor, you can choose to enter 30% fixed professional expenses instead of entering all your actual expenses in your accounts.

Is this correct? If yes, how do I do this in Dexxter?

Kind regards,

Sophie

Hello!

That is indeed an option. When you fill in your personal income tax, simply leave the personal income tax grid stating your expenses not filled in. This is either grid 1606 (if you were a commercial enterprise earlier) or grid 1657 (if you were a consultant earlier), see under the personal income tax module -> return. If you leave that schedule blank when filling in your personal income tax return, the tax authorities will automatically apply the 30% flat-rate allowance. However, Dexxter does not currently support this calculation, so it is not the case that if you do not enter any expenses in Dexxter, the flat-rate allowance will automatically be applied to calculate your taxes or social security contributions.Simply do not fill in grid 1606 or 1657 (depending on who you are) when completing your personal income tax return. When completing your personal income tax return, you can also calculate this (before you submit it) and you will see that the tax authorities apply the fixed expense allowance!
