Entering electricity, gas and water costs

Question

Hello,

For EGW (electricity, gas and water), I first paid the advance invoices via my private account, followed by a final invoice once a year.

How do I enter the professional costs? Since I don’t know at the time of settlement whether we will have to pay extra or get money back.

Kind regards,

Nathalie

Dear Nathalie,

If this is via your private account, you can claim the costs but not the VAT. The VAT can only be claimed if the invoice is in the name of the business. You can claim the costs in the percentage that you use your home for professional purposes. You can specify this in Dexxter as a percentage of professional use. If you receive money back at the end of the year, you can enter this as a credit note. Kind regards, Annelies. If you are exempt from vAT, I don't think there is any problem with claiming the VAT portion as well.

If you want to reclaim vAT, all the costs you claim must be supported by an invoice addressed to your vAT number. Thank you!
