Entering a laptop

Question

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could provide me with an explanation for what percentage of a laptop can be entered as an expense. What percentage should you indicate?

I am a student entrepreneur and use the laptop for my bookkeeping as well as for my administrative work at the swimming school.

I can certainly help you with that.

If you use your laptop 100% for your business, just put it down as 100% professional use percentage. No restrictions.

But if you do have some private use, I would put it down as 75% in the accounts. 75% professional use percentage (and if you are subject to VAT, then also 75%). I am a main occupation myself, I use my laptop intensively during the day and sometimes for private use, of course. My partner also uses it sometimes, I do my private administration on that laptop, etc. etc. So, in concrete terms, 75% for me :) I am curious to hear from others! If you indicate that you use the laptop for your administrative work at the swimming school...

Do you do that administrative work as a student or as a self-employed person?

Do you have an other laptop that you use for school? If not, I would still go for 50% to 75% to claim. It would be difficult to deny that you also use it for 'private' purposes, for schoolwork for example.
