Depreciations – spread over the past year if the purchases were made in December

Question

I have made an investment for the future, but would like to use this year’s profit for it. So I have now spread the investment, for which the invoice was issued in December 2022, as payments from January 2022 to December 2022. Is this allowed?

As a sole proprietor, you can choose when to start depreciation in the current year. I think there is also something from the learning center about this; search for depreciation. But in any case, as a sole proprietor (no longer as a company), you can choose when to start depreciation in the year you make the purchase.

Thank you! I will take a look at the learning center.
