I would say directly as an expense, not as a depreciation. Because there is actually nothing to depreciate, there is nothing you can show to an inspector (such as a desk) or refer to (such as a website). So that's why I would say: directly as an expense.
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
