Question

Obtaining your CE driving licence is, of course, a professional expense, but can you claim it as a cost (over 1 year)? Or do you have to book it as an investment over several years?

I would say directly as an expense, not as a depreciation. Because there is actually nothing to depreciate, there is nothing you can show to an inspector (such as a desk) or refer to (such as a website). So that's why I would say: directly as an expense.
