What about costs that run from the middle of this year to the middle of the next year?

Question

I hope someone can help me.
In March, I purchased an annual subscription to WIX to create my website. On 1 May, I will start working as a self-employed person in a secondary occupation (VAT exemption). Because this is a clear professional expense, I acknowledge that I can claim this expense even though the purchases were made earlier and the subscription ran before I started my business. But what about the fact that my annual subscription runs until March 2026? Do I simply claim this in full as an expense in 2025?
It is an amount of 180 euros, so this does not seem like an ‘investment’ to me.
Thanks in advance!

Just enter it as an expense in 2025, as you incurred and paid the expense in 2025. For example, my annual subscription to Dexter only started in March 2025, so I entered the cost of that in 2025. When I have to pay this again in March 2026 to renew for another year, I will enter it as an expense from March 2026.
