Cash book required?

Question

Hi,

I have started working as a pedicure as a secondary occupation and use Dexxter for my accounting.

Do I still need to keep a physical cash book if I enter all my income and expenses in Dexxter? My daily receipts are a mix of cash and Payconiq (50/50) and I am not subject to VAT.

I also deposit my cash income directly into my business account.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Good question

Hi,

If cash payments are a structural part of your business, you are legally required to keep a cash book. That is what the law says about this. It does not specify when a part is structural (is 30% structural, is 10% structural?). However, I believe that 50% is definitely a structural part, so it is best to keep a cash book for that amount. Best regards, Ad. Thank you very much.
