As long as you are a self-employed student, the social insurance fund has to check every year whether you are still entitled to the statute.
This is important to maintain your advantageous self-employed student status. Fortunately, your social insurance fund carries out a spontaneous check every year, so you don’t have to think about it yourself!
Your social insurance fund is going to send you invitations every year to provide the next two pieces of evidence:
1. Proof that you participated in the exams for at least 27 credits for the previous school year.
You can prove this with:
- a copy of your marks list with exam results showing that you participated in the exams. If you have finished your studies, you can also replace the marks list with a copy of your diploma.
- or provide your social insurance fund with the ‘certificate of regular attendance’ to be filled in by the school. You can find an example of this attestation from the Acerta social insurance fund here.
2. Proof that you are enrolled for at least 27 credits or 17 lessons per week for the next school year.
You can prove this with:
- any certificate stating the school, the type of studies and the amount of credits or teaching hours taken, e.g. a print screen of your enrolment on the school’s online platform.
- or provide your social insurance fund with the ‘Certificate of enrolment in an educational establishment’ to be filled in by the school. You can find an example of this attestation here.
