Self-billing Luminus vAT with vAT exemption

Question

I have a secondary occupation that recently became VAT exempt. Now Luminus has issued an invoice in my name (self-billing) for the electricity from the solar panels. It states 21% vAT. How should I best record this? And do I need to file a special vAT declaration for this?

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

Just like you would enter any other invoice/expense. Fill in the amount excl. VAT and fill in the amount incl. VAT.

Kind regards

But this isn't an expense, or should I fill in a negative number?

Ah, sorry, it's a sales invoice made out in your name? Because you mention a special vAT declaration, I think that's only possible for expenses...Um, yes, then i don't know :) To be honest, I'm afraid that means you're not exempted from VAT? Solar panels seem to me to be related to a building? And therefore not exempted from VAT... But I'm not sure and, to be honest, I don't know enough from your specific situation. Maybe you should check with an accountant?
