Enter invoice as both investment and regular purchase

Question

I have an invoice for a large amount of work equipment (pliers, drills, tools), but the same invoice also states other items that are not investments, such as cement/vending machines, etc. How should I enter this?

Can I enter the same invoice twice with other amounts, once as an investment so that I can write it off (the amount from the tools) and once for the amount of the regular materials?

That's how I would do it. Enter it twice and split the amounts.
I recently had an example where part of the invoice was VAT-free, and I had to enter those two parts separately so that the vAT amount would appear correctly.
