vAT number not recognised in Dutch webshop

Question

Hello,

I have been self-employed in a secondary occupation since 1/10/2023 and am subject to VAT. When I try to place an order with a Dutch webshop, I get a message saying that the VAT number is incorrect or is not recognised. I have already tried this with several webshops. Do you have to register your vAT number somewhere in order to be able to place orders in the Netherlands or other European countries?

It should work normally. How do you enter your number? Try with/without 'BE' in front, dots in between or spaces.

It still doesn't work.

I had to register my vAT number with Minfin Vat Validation email: vat.validation@minfin.fed.be now the vAT number is enabled and registered for the European Commission website.

Now it's okay.
