Question

I am a gardener and have just bought an amount of machines, costing around £600 per machine.

Which cost category does this fall under?

Thank you!

I read somewhere that it is best to record expenses above £250 as an investment.

Hello,

JB's answer is correct here. Dexxter recommends that you record purchases with a unit price higher than £250 as an investment if your purchase is a long-term purchase. The amount of £250 is an indication, not a hard limit. In this case, I assume that the machines are intended to last for several years. You could then indeed record them as an investment.
