Question

I work in a secondary occupation, exempted from VAT…

  1. How do I enter a proof of payment (no invoice received) for a photography course?

The following is stated after the amount paid: (exempted from VAT, VAT Code art. 44, §2, 4°)

  2. The amount is more than 250 euros…can I also split this between this financial year and the next financial year?

Hello,

Article 44 means that it is not subject to VAT. Therefore, 0% VAT will be applied to your payment. But you can certainly record your proof of purchase. This should be a receipt, such as a cash register receipt or similar. Otherwise, it is best to question an invoice.

As a VAT-exempted person, such a receipt is actually always sufficient. An invoice is required, especially for VAT recovery purposes. But that does not apply from your case. :)

You can include it in full in this financial year, but if you want, you can also spread it over two years and enter it as an investment. Whatever suits you best.
