Question

I use lamp oil to heat my workshop. How should I record this?

You can easily add a new cost category for this, such as 'fuel for machinery' under 'general expenses'.

I created this myself for the fuel for some horticultural machinery that runs on kerosene.

Thank you

Heating with paraffin is really not sustainable. Switch to an electric heat pump as soon as possible and install solar panels on your roof to reduce your electricity costs. You can also receive subsidies for installing a heat pump (even for buildings that are not inhabited). More information at https://apps.energiesparen.be/simulator-mijnverbouwpremie-2025.
