fuel costs

Question

I have just started as a self-employed person in a secondary occupation and am busy figuring out how to record my expenses… hopefully you can help me!

I occasionally give training courses at various locations. I have already noted the kilometres I drove for this with my private car for the purpose of reimbursement for fuel consumption. But now I have read that I have to enter my fuel costs based on the actual costs. But how do I do that? After all, I have no idea what the percentage of private and professional kilometres is for this year because I have only just started my secondary occupation.
Should I fill up every day I travel and then keep track of the amount of litres of fuel based on average consumption/kilometre?

Thank you for helping me on my way!

Good question! I have the same problem.

We have a fuel card at work. Depending on the amount of kilometres I drive with the car, I fill up once or twice a month with that card. The rest I fill up privately. You can do it that way too, of course. The tax authorities are not going to calculate your exact number of kilometres :-)
