Question

Hello everyone

As a sole proprietor, can I claim my fuel costs to and from my office as an expense? I make these journeys five days a week. Do I have to claim a certain percentage of them (since this car is also used at the weekend)?

You can indeed claim these on your business.
There are two ways to do this:

  • Write down your mileage and calculate a precise percentage of how much you use your car.

  • Estimate the percentage of time you use your car for these journeys.

It is best to apply for a professional fuel card, as this will provide you with clear invoices.

Can anyone recommend an app that provides good 'proof'?
