Switching to fully self-employed

Question

Hello.

I started as a self-employed in secondary occupation and will probably switch to being fully self-employed.

What are the advantages and disadvantages? And what do I need to do for this?

Kind regards, DDK window cleaner.

That's a broad question, of course :)

I think the biggest advantage (I'm also self-employed in main occupation, by the way) is that you set your own schedule. But at the same time, that's also a disadvantage, because if things go good, your schedule will be packed...

The disadvantage is that you have to organise everything yourself. No more payslips from your employer, so you lose some of that security. You may have to do a bit more advertising to fill your schedule. You become more dependent on your business, of course, and you have to put more effort into it.

But the balance still tips heavily towards my main occupation. I'm glad I took the plunge (it's been a while now).
