Start date of depreciation, not pro rata?

Question

Hello

A while back, the Dexxter team said that as a sole proprietor, you have the option to enter your depreciations for a full year, even if you only make purchases in December (i.e. not pro rata). However, this option was not yet available in Dexxter at the time, but was to be integrated for tax returns. I have just noticed the option to adjust the start date of the depreciation in my depreciations. Is it now possible to edit my investments from previous year and depreciate them from 01-01-2021? Thank you in advance!

Hello,

Giel from the Dexxter team here!Yes, indeed! From now on, you can set the start date of a depreciation in a manual way. Because, as you rightly point out, in the case of a sole proprietor, this is also allowed for a whole year. This is an important exception; in a company, for example, this is not the case, where the date of purchase of the investment is "always" (with some exceptions) equal to the start date of depreciation. So you can still adjust the investments for 2021 in terms of the start date of depreciations, which means you will still have depreciations for a whole year in 2021.
