Question

Can I continue to use Dexxter for my declarations if I am self-employed in main occupation?

Are there any other matters I need to arrange before becoming self-employed in main occupation?

You can definitely continue to use Dexxter for your main occupation! Your expenses, income, vAT declarations, personal income tax, etc. will not change whether you are a student entrepreneur, a secondary occupation or a main occupation. So it is certainly possible as a self-employed person in main occupation.

The only thing you need to bear in mind is that we really focus on self-employed students and part-time self-employed persons. The information, tips and tricks we provide will always be updated to that target group. In other words, we will continue to address you as a student entrepreneur or part-time self-employed person.

As long as you can see past that, you can certainly continue with Dexxter if you are self-employed as your main occupation.

What you should definitely pay attention to if you are self-employed as your main occupation:

  • Loss of child benefit

    (if applicable)

  • No longer dependants from your parents

  • You are no longer covered by your parents' health insurance (health insurance), so you will need to take out your own from then on

  • Be sure to contact your social insurance fund to let them know that they can transfer you to self-employed in your main occupation (with higher social security contributions)

  • ...
