Hello,
I have completed an assignment for a de facto association without a vAT number. How should I create an invoice? They say I can just create a cost note, but how does this work in Dexxter?
Kind regards,
Joannes

Hello Johannes,
You can create this unincorporated association as a private person in Dexxter and create an invoice that way. That way, you don't have to provide a company number.

Gert
Thank you, Gert!

That's not entirely correct. Every non-profit organisation is also a business, but many non-profit organisations are not subject to VAT. Best to check in the CBE: https://kbopub.economie.fgov.be/kbopub/zoeknummerform.html?lang=nl.

Hi Johan,
That's right. A non-profit organisation always has a company number. However, this is very rare for a de facto association. They usually do not have a company number. Because a de facto association does not have a formal legal structure, and as long as the de facto association does not pursue an economic purpose, there is no legal obligation to register with the CBE.
Kind regards,
Gert
In that case, you are correct. It is the same as a private person without a vAT number. However, there are also VME's that are non-profit organisations and therefore have a company number and vAT number (I am particularly familiar with this because I draw up EPCs). However, it never hurts to check with the CBE (not everyone in such an association is familiar with the association's statute).
Johan
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
