I am a student entrepreneur and VAT exempted.
I think you will indeed have to do a special vAT declaration for the VAT still to be paid on that €15. You can find a video about this in the learning center, about special vAT declarations (which used to be exempted from VAT).Personally, I find that the annoying thing about VAT exempted is that if you make a lot of purchases abroad, you always have to deal with that special vAT declaration. That's why I switched to subject to VAT; it's hardly any more work and just as easy to do with Dexxter.Good luck!
My accountant used to say that it wasn't necessary for small amounts (special vAT declaration, that is)... But maybe that's not entirely true. In hindsight, I have to admit that he did some things wrong :)
With some suppliers outside Belgium, you can indicate that you are subject to VAT, in which case they will charge VAT and you won't have to file a special vAT declaration.
I also have an invoice from Meta for using Facebook ads amounting to €37. (Outside the EU) Do I also have to do a special vAT declaration for this? The special vAT declaration for my European suppliers is now okay.
As soon as you have not paid vAT, you must do a special vAT declaration. Or you try to prevent vAT from being charged. Some companies can still charge you vAT, while others cannot. I fear that Facebook will continue to send invoices without vAT.
Non-European companies will not be able to charge you vAT anyway. Outside Europe, they do not have vAT; that system does not exist there.
So that's easy: only European companies can charge you vAT (rightly or wrongly).
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
