As a sole proprietor, you still have the freedom to set the start date of a depreciation for a whole year.
You purchase something that is an investment on date 12/05/2022.And as a sole proprietor, you can still say: depreciation start date 01/01/2022 -> more days of depreciation in this year, more costs for this year and therefore less taxes in this year. Don't get too hung up on this, because you are simply shifting when you are depreciating, of course, so those days count for less in the last year. But you can also say, depreciation start date 12/05/2022. And then your depreciation will start on 12/05/2022 and will run a little longer at the end compared to 01/01/2022. You simply shift the days around, more days this year or not, but they also shift in your last year of depreciation.
As a sole proprietor, that is still allowed, but as a company, it is no longer allowed. So that is why Dexxter has provided that flexibility, I think.
Yep, that's right, there is a difference between a company and a sole proprietor.
Dexxter didn't have that in the beginning, by the way, they add it afterwards because there was some question for it. Because we're all sole proprietors here :)
Clear and thank you!
You really should try it out for yourself. Even if you don’t have a company number yet, you can already go ahead.
