Question

Hello,

I am self-employed in secondary occupation (small business exempt from vAT). I received two invoices from Dutch companies, one for an online training course and one for an online website tool. I would like to question the addition of vAT to the invoice instead of reverse-charged vAT so that I can pay vAT in the Netherlands and do not have to file a special vAT declaration in Belgium (I remain below the maximum amount of €11,200 in any case). What should be stated on the invoice besides my company name? Should it also include my company or vAT number, or is it acceptable for that information to be omitted? Naturally, I would like to be able to claim the costs incurred for taxes. Thank you very much for your advice.

Hi,

The company number may be included, but it is not required. It can sometimes be beneficial not to do it, as they will never reverse charge the vAT. And it is not required, as the vAT administration will not be checking your records. ;-)

Regards, Jan

Thank you, Jan
