Question

Dear Dexxter

My Dashboard states that I have a VAT exemption limit of €3,219.18. However, Liantis informed me that I fall within the following limits:

  • “If your income is less than or equal to €7,021.28, you do not pay social security contributions.

If your income is between €7,021.28 and €14,042.57, you paid a reduced contribution of 20.5% on the portion of your income above €7,021.28.

  • If your income is higher than or equal to €14,042.57, you pay contributions as a self-employed person in your main occupation. You then pay a contribution of at least €748.11 quarterly.

    Can this be updated?

    Thank you in advance!

Hello,

That VAT exemption threshold is effective for remaining exempted from VAT. On an annual basis, that threshold is €25,000 in turnover. If you remain below that amount, you may remain exempted from VAT. But that is on an annual basis, in other words, if you were self-employed for a whole year. Because you started towards the end of the year, that £25,000 must be converted to the remaining number of days in the year. Dexxter does that for you, which comes to £3,219.18. See also the info icon next to it.

The amounts you mention relate to your social security contributions.
