Purchases of laptop in current or next financial year

Question

I started my sole proprietor in October 2024. So I’m just starting out as a self-employed person in secondary occupation. I would like to purchase a laptop as an investment. Do you recommend doing this as soon as possible so that I can write off a small portion of it this financial year? Or would it be smarter to postpone the purchases until the next financial year? I would appreciate your advice.
