Purchases a robotic lawnmower as an investment and installing it at a customer’s premises

Question

Hello, as a sole trader whose activity is ‘garden maintenance’, can you make a purchase of a robotic lawnmower? Include this as an investment in your accounts and depreciate it over 5 years. The intention is to install this robotic lawnmower at a customer’s premises. The customer saves on my working hours. I can charge extra costs. The customer is paid a fixed amount per month for their garden maintenance, for which I also trim the lawn edges, keep the borders weed-free and prune the hedges. I also monitor the functioning of the robotic lawnmower (e.g. when an error code is sent or when the blades need to be replaced).

I don't know if I can answer your question, but are you planning to rent it out? (There are a few articles about rental in the community.)

Either you sell the robot lawnmower to your customer at a profit (to recoup your investment), or you charge rent. Providing a robot lawnmower free of charge seems rather strange to me. ;-)
