Fuel without a receipt

Question

Is a bank statement sufficient for fuel expenses if you no longer have a receipt?

I fear that it does not state specifically what you have purchased (fuel, amount of litres, etc.). This seems insufficient for tax inspection purposes.

Also because your receipt might state something like 'petrol station', but you could just as easily have bought something in the shop (if there is a shop). Or does it specifically state 'refuelling'?

The bank statement states 'payment for refuelling by Bancontact', but not the amount of litres.

Hmm, then I wouldn't dare say :) Maybe take the risk and put it in the accounts anyway? If it's just once...

Sucks!

Thanks for your input. I'm not going to take the risk then.
