Entering clothing as an expense

Question

Dear Sir/Madam,

I make and sell earrings as a self-employed student. I recently bought clothes for a shopping event I organised and to take photos. How should I enter this as an expense? I assume this does not fall under the category ‘trade goods’?

Thanks in advance

Annelien

Hey Annelien,

Great, do you happen to have a website? :-)

Then I would enter it as advertising & marketing, marketing, or something similar? There will be enough photos to show that the clothes were actually used for marketing purposes ;)

Kind regards, Sandra</

Thanks for the clear answer! I'll do it that way!

You can find my earrings at www.fikaclay.com or on Instagram as @fikaclay for more photos or a look behind the scenes!

Kind regards, Annelien
