Defective mobile phone brought in

Question

Hello everyone,

I bought a mobile phone this year and, as I am self-employed in a secondary occupation, I contributed 50% of the cost with a depreciation over 3 years.

Now it has been dropped and cannot be repaired, the cost has been fully incurred and the mobile phone will not be used for 3 years. Can I book the full cost for this year and how do I do this in Dexxter?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Younes

Sell it to yourself for 0.01 euro (there just needs to be an amount on it before you can sell it). That way, it will be removed from your accounts and the remaining depreciation will also be included in your accounts. You can then state 'defective, ...' on that sales invoice to yourself. Great, that's a good idea.

Thank you!
