Adding an extension to your own home as an expense

Question

Hello! I am a personal trainer in my secondary occupation and would like to carry out my activity on my private property (at home). We could ‘build’ an extension (max. 40 m²) in our garden, exclusively for professional use. Now I was wondering whether I can claim the full cost of this as expenses?
I would also take out a loan for part of here. I can’t find a clear answer to this question anywhere…

Thank you in advance for your help!

Both the renovation and the loan can be claimed as expenses. I would consult an accountant to ensure that something from this magnitude is claimed correctly. There are also some consequences if you decide to stop your self-employed activity.
