Question

I acknowledge that I can enter 0.15€/km as a flat-rate commuting allowance. Do I have to do this via expenses and therefore create a new cost category + keep track of it in Excel? Or should this (according to some sources) be added to part 1 of the taxes?

Hello,

If you fill in anything in part 1 of your tax return regarding your commuting costs, these will relate to the commuting costs from your employee status.

If you want to demonstrate the costs for your self-employed activity, you will always find this in part 2 of your tax return. Dexxter will provide you with these figures, which you can then fill in in part 2. You can enter your commuting costs as a self-employed person in Dexxter by, for example, creating a new cost category. This also helps you keep track of your own summary, as you will have them neatly organised in a separate category.
