Which name on the invoice: “Commercial name” or “Natural person”?

Question

Practical question,

I have just started a secondary occupation and have incurred some expenses. At Company A, I gave the cashier my details and provided my ‘Commercial name’.

At Company B, an employee checked everything (whether the vAT number was enabled in relation to the SME portfolio 🙂 ) and the invoice states “natural person”.

Are both acceptable? Are invoices in the commercial name accepted by the vAT authorities or am I in trouble here?

Thanks!
Glenn

No, it really doesn't matter :)

If your company number is on the invoice, it's fine. Whether it says ABC or XYZ next to it doesn't really matter. They look at the company number (and that's it).

If you are subject to VAT, make sure your company number is always on purchase invoices.

If you are VAT exempted, even the company number doesn't really matter.

Alright, thanks! :)
