From VAT exemption to subject to VAT

Question

Dear

I am currently exempt from VAT, but because I make a lot of purchases abroad (the Netherlands and Germany), I am considering switching to subject to VAT.

I have read that I will then have to charge vAT and submit quarterly returns, but with the help and explanations I can find at Dexxter, I think that will be good. What I am still wondering is what about the vAT on Dutch invoices? Do I have to pay it or not? Is that arranged via the vAT declaration?

If you are subject to VAT, no VAT is paid on invoices that come from outside Belgium and remain within the EU. Be sure to inform your suppliers in the Netherlands and Germany so that they do not charge VAT.

In Dexxter, you enter the invoices without vAT. Dexxter will then take the appropriate action when you need to file a vAT declaration.

Thank you for your reply. A number of my foreign suppliers already do not charge VAT, which means I always have to do an exceptional vAT declaration. That is why I am considering becoming subject to VAT after all.
