Question

I have a Google One Drive subscription from £9.99 per month for my sole proprietor. I don’t really receive an invoice for this…can I just enter the email from Google as proof of expenses?

Hello,

If you don't have an invoice, you won't be able to reclaim the vAT, but you can enter it as a business expense. To reclaim vAT, you need an invoice with your vAT number on it.

If you only want to prove the professional expense, you can use an invoice, a receipt, a bill of receipt, an expense note... Anything that proves what you bought (a description of your purchases) and how much it cost is sufficient to record a professional expense. In such cases, you don't need to worry if your company number is not stated on the document. As long as you can prove what you bought, how much you paid for it and that you have a reason for using it professionally, you are good to go when it comes to proving professional expenses.
